The original is what's on the photo. Dark....."серо-буро-малиновьiй" 
(Russian way of calling a color that is God knows what - literally "greyish-brownish-raspberry"). Anything that is between dark-olive and beige will do. In fact...anything will do.
But it is not urgent as the turntable will need its own restoration plus the cartridge (possibly).
