Rookie restorer
#1

I just acquired a Philco model 42-1006P - confirmed by the photo on this site. The radio works but the turn-table is missing. For now I will just be re-finishing as a conversation piece for my office. My hobby is woodworking - not radio restoration. I have a couple of questions.
1. What is the fake brown/redish zebra wood laminate (photo finish?) across the front (where the Philco decal is) and around the bottom and can I get access to this as it is flaking off.
2. I am assuming I can get a new decal for the front - reliable source?
3. I have the knobs but the escutcheon (plastic around the dial) has a corner chipped off (2" piece is gone) and probably needs to be replaced - are these available?

The rest of the cabinet wood is in good shape and I will have fun with it.

Any help you experts could provide would be invaluable as I am out of my comfort zone.
