Well, so far, so good.
With the information that Terry provided, I have determined that our son's Philco 46-200 is an early model, not a later model as I had first suspected.
It has had the PM speaker modification done. There is no "code" number visible anywhere. This would seem to indicate that this is a "first model".
With what appears to be the correct schematic I can now proceed to test components and trouble-shoot the radio.
I will post photos of the radio tomorrow.
