Electrolytic Cap in 42-360
#3

Thank you Ron.
That's what I suspected. I was actually able to get 8mfd caps from wjoe so I have the parts for an exact replacement. I was also able to get two 6mfds so that I could construct a 12mfd to replace the other electrolytic in the unit.

I'll post back once I get this puppy up and running. I learned from posts on this forum that I also need to swap the caps inside the bakelite block (didn't realize there were caps in there). I also read posts about the rubber coated wires. I only saw one deteriorated wire -- others are not flaking. Is it necessary to replace them if they're not cracked or flaking?

Thanks again!
