I remember working on a Silvertone set from '36 that had a power transformer. But it was an autotransformer... http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByModel...017073.pdf Cheap design and shock hazard.

I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.
