The chattering happens on all stations and increases as I increase the volume.
I have an old Zenith from the same era. It has the antenna on the back panel. It does not have any chatter.
I have not replaced any caps including the electrolitics.
Sounds like recapping is the only solution if I want decent sound quality. That will be a long term job for me. Wish I could check the caps inline.
