I have two 60s and one 66.
From it I could say that Mershons probably would not be used if only for the reason the capacitors were mounted.
The mount for 60s is more or less the same as in many other radios: it is a clamp, with both caps using an electric-grade cardboard sleeve to isolate from the chassis, with one-bolt tightening of both.
Mershons are through-chassis mount, using nuts.
