I kept working on reassembly this week. I wasn’t able to solder for a few days while it was too cold (single digit low temperatures and highs below 20 degrees), but now things are warming back up in Tulsa. This weekend it was about 50 degrees both days, and the snow is just about gone. Here’s a couple of pictures to show this week’s progress. Except for the push button assembly, I have finished the RF section. I haven’t found any more issues with the schematic.
Aside from that, I’ve spoken a bit more with Jim Koehler. He found some more books on servicing of tube radios Which he mailed to me, for only the price of postage. He’s been quite generous! He’s still looking for the IF transformer, but I also stumbled upon Moyer Electronics. They sell modern electronic hardware and discrete components, but also advertise a sizable collection of vintage electronic parts. They explicitly mention IF transformers. I emailed them last night to inquire about the 32-4074. It says on their website to give them three business days for a response.
