I may have just found the IF transformer. There is a person on FB Marketplace who is selling a 46-480 in need of some restoration. They were asking $150 but agreed on $75.
Here’s my thought. I do not need the entire radio, and I do not need to spend $75. I merely need the IF transformer. But, is anyone else here needing any parts for a 46-480 restoration? I could part out the tubes, the potentiometers, the sockets, the other two IF transformers, the cabinet, the knobs, the output transformer, and so on. It has a band selection wafer switch which might be useful to someone as well.
If and only if I can find enough people in need of the remaining parts, I may just go ahead and buy the console for $75. I could recover some of the money by selling the unneeded parts.
