Next time (unless you meat the same) try to do this:
Treat it same as a backelite can:
- Cut the wires coming out from the inside the can to the solder lugs.
- Then remove the can after unbolting it.
- The phenolic panel therefore is left in the radio with all wires coming to it still soldered to it.
- Clean the lugs (only if you want it).
- Then gut the can.
