Vlad;
I was just reminded of something else, I'm not sure why but many Rogers built sets do seem to have open primaries on the audio output transformers, at least with the push pull ones. I'm speaking more of the late 1930s, early 1940s ones, that were mounted on the back of the speaker basket. I have a Deforest Crosley Brahms with a bad output transformer, but the Canadian Majestic next to it apparently had the same issue as it has vintage Hammond replacement mounted in the same place. On is a 1938-39 model, the other a 1939-40 model, but the circuitry is fairly similar with the audio output stage with push pull 6K6Gs (they label them as 41Ms, same tube with a spray shield). It's possible that a bad capacitor took them out, but the Majestic still has it's original coupling caps, and had the tone correction capacitor across the primary. The audio interstage transformers are fine in both sets, so maybe a bad batch of output transformers?
It's a little more frustrating in that the plate load impedance or a 6K6 is considerably different from most of the other audio output tubes in that era, including the #45s, so getting the correct replacement isn't as easy as a set with 6F6s or 6V6s. Probably 90% of the sets I see with 6K6s are small sets with a single ended output tube.
