Well, finding a short is easy.
Like I said, disconnect the transformer's secondary windings and see if it persists.
If it does, it is likely a turn short. But hopefully it is not.
People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.
