MrFixr55,
Now that is a history lesson for sure!! Awesome work on the station history. I only recognized WOR, WABC and WNEW as NY stations. I do remember listening to 'Cousin Brucie' as well as 'The Swingin' Soiree with Murray the K' on, I think, WINS. For some reason I thought WJZ was a Boston station but then realized I mixed it up with WBZ.
I am attempting to fix the on/off switch. I took it apart and realized one lead had partially pulled out and was making intermittent contact. I found it weird that the lead was not soldered to the spring leaf. But then realized soldering would probably ruin the spring action that the rotor depends on. I have new leads installed and the switch works properly. Now just need to figure out how to re-attach it. I may try to figure out a way to use #4 40 screws in place of the rivets. I may end up removing the push button switch assembly.
Thanks again for the station history. It was nice to know what happened to stations I had never heard of.
Rich
