I am going to buy 2 10W resistors to replace the candohm

And about the transformer, it is late as of now so I don't have a chance to check the transformer for an open winding, I'm worried it's open because the 6X5GT is the "transformer killer" but I happen to have a power transformer from a Truetone D-1046 (lovely radio btw, that's what got me into vacuum tubes, but the cabinet was beyond repair so I took out the chassis and took parts out of it), but I'm not sure if it's compatible as a substitute.
