Hi Mr Fixr55, Wow .That was fast and a thousand thank yous. I knew that discovering the correct mains voltage was not going to be too hard once I got the chassis out and onto the bench . I have been blessed with a variac by one of our Vintage Radio Society members here in Christchurch.
But I would like to present the set at our next monthly meeting ,as found , still in its cabinet.
I realised the output stage was unusual and hoped to present the schematic to the members to get their feedback on how to approach the task of bringing it back to working order. Thanks again for your help with this. I am grateful. Thank you too for your input on how that output stage works i.e. the cathode follower driving the output tubes. Once working I'm hoping for big sound and clear sound. I'll let you know!
