I have a Philco 46-1209 whose cabinet is in excellent condition. It seems to have at least 2 different wood grains. The Philco manual states that The cabinet is likely walnut, possibly mahogany. However the horizontal band wrapping near the top of the cabinet has grain that looks like birdseye maple. Does anyone have a definitive answer regarding this attractive veneer band that is distinctly different from the rest of the cabinet wood? Thanks.
