Per the schematic, these sound OK.
Do try the wire on the 6A8 grid cap to see if you get more reception. Also, do try grounding the chassis to a water pipe ground. DO BE CAREFUL, if the power input filter caps are still original, they are known to short and cause the chassis to be electrically "hot". (This is why they are referred to as Death Caps.)
