Started soldering the "PCB" back together.
It could be simple or it could be as complicated as one makes it, and I am not in the habit of choosing easy roads to success. I am a man from Russia after all.
So. I obviously do not want smear the board with rosin residue; plus the rosin is corrosive ...wait, am I writing poetry here or what?
I need to rhyme it with "explosive."
Anywho, so I do this:
I take some aluminum foil and put it under the wires to be soldered.
Oh....and I have to hold the wires together, which is a tall order, considering using my bare hands means burnt fingertips.
I use a bamboo skewer or a piece of wood to press down on one wire (the other is in place). Prior to it I have to scrape the wires as they are really oxidized and do not take the solder well even with rosin core.
The result is like this:
And then the original stape goes in.
Above the new solder is the old one. It will do.
But it takes time. The next joint had two thick wires and a magnet wire from the coil. I kinda wished I had a 3rd hand. But then I thought, such a useful deformity would make me look way more hideous than I am now, and for a few solder joints...so I stopped wishing, as, you know, sometimes wishes do come true. When you stopped wishing. You know. You wake up in the morning, and scratch your butt, and then you see that your two hands (those growing from the right places) are under your pillow. And the butt is being scratched by something else.
And then you remember that yesterday you solder an Atwater Kent...

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.
