One project today was to apply new veneer on the face of a 1937 Fairfield Morse. I was curious what thickness you used. I think mine was really too thin 1/42 inch. It split so easily I decided to lay down a second layer and order a veneer saw. Trying to cut with an x-acto knife just blew it out.
