    I just ordered this veneer saw for $40.
There's another type available but this can be used without any adjustments.
I think your patch should work well.Sort of what I did on my Philco. Not sure the top came out right, but at least it's secure. I think I overdid it on the grain filler. The Pagoda came the other day - this will be a task.
