sdradioman, thanks for your guidance. Is there a particular kind of stain you recommend for the sides, or is is just any old Minwax/Varathane/etc liquid stain with color to suit that you recommend? I've also seen a fair amount of talk about grain filler, especially I think with walnut veneer. Did you do that with your cabinet?
