That’s a surprisingly clever solution to the drift issue! It’s too bad the post-war sets with push-button presets didn’t carry on with the same magnetic tuning technology. But I suppose I’ll admit that I haven’t noticed any drift while listening to AM stations on my ‘40s radios; I only experience it while listening to FM, and the push-buttons are only for AM.
