I like the way they stuck the Selenium Rectifier right up behind the speaker, they jammed a lot in the chassis.

I read an account on these Z's and they specifically mentioned a "Foster Seeley" discriminator as being a reason the FM sounds better than in sets using a "ratio detector" apparently this is what the Armstrong System yellow labels you see on these radios refer to? Anyway they a way over my head in many respects but I can say usually all my Zeniths with FM are pretty good. Here is one of mine
