As far as I know they basically removed the 6.3 volt vibrator power supply and added a 117 volt, AC mains transformer in it's place, electrically if not physically. It's possible that the antenna coil may have an open primary if reception is very weak, other then that I would check the tubes, resistors, and alignment. I would also go back through and see if maybe a wiring error was made, it's not uncommon with a bulk recapping for this to happen. I noticed that there is a .01 uf cap coupling the car antenna to the primary of the antenna coil as well. https://philcoradio.com/library/download...20Book.pdf
