Late 1960s Toshiba Model 8P-823F AM/FM Radio issues
#3

Hello Rich, yes, it most definitly needs an alignment of some sort but as I mentioned this radio is being really weird and not wanting to realign properly, for instance as I mentioned in my initial post when aligning the AM Band, I was able to align the AM IF Correctly.

But then when it came to doing an oscillator/RF/antenna alignment, I couldn't get the radio to pick up the 1670 kHz, 1400 kHz or the 600 kHz signal from my signal generator at their respective spots on the dial.
If I just took and set the aforementioned spots on the tuning dial and then just did a "dial scan" on my signal generator then I would eventually hear those frequencies on the dial but the actual frequencies that were being put out by the signal generator that was being picked up by the radio at where the aforementioned frequencies were supposed to be was actually several tens of kilohertz off from what was actually being shown on the tuner dial, and what frequency was being sent out by the signal generator.

For example the Sam's says I need to use a signal of 1670 kHz fed into the radio with the tuner set at the highest end of the tuner dial (a little past the 160 mark on the tuner dial) but instead of the radio picking up the 1670 signal from the signal generator at that position, it would actually pick up the signal with the signal generator set closer to 1610-1630 kHz.
As for the 1400 kHz signal; instead of the radio picking up the signal from the signal generator being set at 1400 kHz, it actually picks up the signal generator's signal at that spot with the signal generator set closer to 1560 kHz.
Then finally, the radio when it's set at 600 kHz won't even pick up the signal generator at all, no matter where I attempted to try and set the signal generator at.

Also the radio's Oscillaor adjustment screws seem to like to short out the radio to the point that when I try to adjust them if I turn them a certain way the oscillator just dies, and the radio won't pick anything up (no static or anything) and I'm not sure why these oscillator adjustment screws are acting like this.
