I am restoring an '34 Model 84B. I just replaced the 4 Meg ohm on the I.F. Trans with a new 2 Meg and a new grid lead(I just snipped out the old resistor rather than trying to unsolder). I noticed that the lead wire from the Tickler was just standing free with no connection. I created a small solder drop and managed to maneuver the end into the solder ball, hoping I would get a connection. The fine wire is also covered with a cloth wrapping so it made things a little more difficult.
So the question is: What if I have no connection to the tickler, what are consequences? You guys understand this re-gen stuff better than I do. How will I know if all is well when I get to the alignment phase? OR, should I just pull the thing and try and have it re-wound?
Thanks for any advice you can give me,
Dave
p.s. I took a couple very close up pics if anyone needs to see them.
