Yes, the chassis is in very good condition. I've started disassembling it for cleaning, the power transformer looks like it's still new! I've already ordered new pushbuttons and rubber mounts from Renovated Radios and will begin the fun of replacing that old rubber coated wire!
Greg, it's good to hear from a fellow Wisconsinite! I live not too far from you! I'm up just west Of Sheboygan in Sheboygan Falls.
I also have what is I think a 40-180, I say "I think" 'cause I haven't looked at it for years! It's buried somewhere in my mom and dad's basement. I remember buying it for 8 bucks when I was in High school back in the early 80's. At that time my mom didn't appreciate my new found hobby so I had to keep it at my Grandma's house! The set still played at the time and the cabinet was my first attempt at refinishing. It was at that time that I learned the hard way about "Photo Finish" !
