Well, welcome to the phorums! The crowd here is very nice and helpful, and well knowledgeable in all things Philco.
There are even a few 47-1230 owners! (or the siblings 47-1227 and similar radios)
My radio is not currently 100% recapped; I still have a few capacitors to change. The bulkiness of the radio makes it rather hard to work on. I'd like to have a spare set of speaker+antenna to work away from the cabinet...
but you are right, my stations are shifted. For instance, I catch AM730 near 800.
Oddly enough, the FM reception is very crisp even if I haven't worked a lot on its capacitors, and its alignment is better than the AM one.
Maybe it is common in those radios? Others would have to chime in to let us know...
