As I recall, when I bought the tube/socket from Bill, I purchased it with the wiring in tact. He had a option so I didn't need to use the existing wiring or socket. Worked wonderfully after straightening out the internal wiring on the tube socket which was wrong. Bill corrected that on new ones. Probably just an error on assembly of the package. Yes, a little longer than the original but worked very nicely. The radio was far from "original" with a PM speaker so, what the hay.
