Philco grommets
#10

Yes, I agree!! Last time I restored a mid 30s Philco "mid-chassis" unit, I ordered a few "extras" of those hard to find (3 ea set mid chassis) rubber grommets indeed!! I keep those in backstock for the next Philco mid RF chassis requiring them!! Those orig rascals are Always rotted!! These new repro mid-RF-chassis Philco grommets fit like "socks on a Rooster"! They work very well indeed! Back in the early 1980s, I used to "sub" garden hose rubber washers & large flat washers to hold the old Philco "mid chassis's" in place!! Very glad we now have better replacements avail these days!! I never once found a rubber "shaft type" grommet (still remaining) on any vintage 1930s vintage Philco Radios, ever!!, and I have restored many of these vintage sets!! I never knew these rubber grommets were ever used before until now!! They were "missing"!!! Thanks for all you did posting your pics, and now Im "educated" !! All my origs Philcos were missing something I didnt know before!! I usually dont "ship" vintage radios, I have my customers pick them up , so they can hear them "fully electronically restored" working on my workbench before they take them home to enjoy again. However, if I ever have to ship a vintage Philco in the future,(not likely).. those rubber grommets will keep things in perfect "alignment"!! Thanks again for sharing something I didnt know before!! I learn something new everyday, and I appreciate those that further educate me on vintage Philcos!! Sincerely, Randal Icon_wink
