If it is not there I would install the 10K resistor between the screen grids of the 1st and 2nd IF tubes. This acts as a decoupling filter and serves to isolate the two stages, preventing instability.

6A8 OP = Oscillator Plate
6A8 OG = Oscillator Grid
CS = Suppressor Grid (G3)
SL = Metal Tube Shell (grounded shielding)
