Yes, for the FM band there are three ganged slugs that move in and out of coils. Here's a closer look.

Finally, here it is powered up. Turns out the FM band works fine. Problem was I had the variac turned down to 105 VAC Icon_redface

Brought it up to 117 and the FM started working fine.
