Thanks very much for the illustration, as it was spot on. I had some multi-strand braided fishing line that I managed to use for the dial pointer cord. However, when I tried it on the tuning knob to the pulley on the ganged capacitor, it slipped too much. There was still some of the original cord that was long enough, so I used it and it grips much better - no slippage. Philco did a good job in separating the dial pointer cord from the drive cord. It makes the whole process much easier.
