Do you have the mounting bracket for the turntable?
You should be able to bolt a replacement record changer in there. The audio input is pretty much compatible with anything; it works with modern equipment and the connector is similar to modern RCA audio plugs.
The power is trough a weird connector, that might be more problematic. But you would be able to replace the original connector for a more usual electric connector that fits in there IMHO. when selecting the left-most preset button, it would power the phono and listend to the phono input pretty much like any other equipment, they didn't make it overcomplex.
The main question is to find one that fits and looks natural in there. It has been suggested to me to use a more modern Philco changer, but I haven't found anything as of yet.
