Philco grandfather clock mech
#12

I think I would return it, it's pretty obvious that someone took the case off the original mechanism and fitted a different electric clock inside. There are two holes in the back that should have shafts coming out that don't, and one shaft that comes out of a hole that someone drilled in the case that should not be there. For $74 you should have the correct mechanism, not a G.E Telechron clock movement pulled from a wall clock or a dead clock radio.
I'm getting rather sick of seeing this "no refunds, no returns" crap from sellers, if they read their user agreement they would see that fleabay's guarantee trumps whatever they put in the description. The other dumb one I see is "Payment must be made within "   " hours or the item will be relisted and a non paying bidder compliant filed", um, no you won't the buyer has seven days to pay unless they agree to cancel the sale.
I don't know why sellers try this B.S, if the movement is not what it's purported to be then they should take it back. Even if it was the right movement then what's the big deal?, relist it and sell it to someone else. I have a feeling that this guy knew this mechanism was screwed with and thought he would try unloading it anyhow, it's not like it was difficult to figure out.
Regards
Arran
