Well like a lot of things there's a couple ways to go about.

Plan A Find the Sam's photofact #331-3 It's all about your RR-550
It will have the part # for the replacement part as of 1956 when I
was born and your bogen was built. It also may tell you how to install it.

Plan B Me I would measure the voltage across the bulb. If it's about
68-75vdc I would use a NE-2 neon to replace. But I'm cheap.
