This is because you never told noone you are the one creating the oscillations 
or you would likely hear an earfull.
As for Alexanderson, as far as I read, it was in fact Fessenden's because Alexanderson's did not quite do what was asked of it, so Regie spent a few months making his own machine (he migh've used some parts of GE unit for it). Then GE took Fessenden's design and marketed it as Alexanderson's.
But....this was single frequency unit, not broadband, and was used for CM.
