41-623 BOL
#8

I did manage to replace the bulb with a #55 and the bulb works fine, but the radio is still not putting out the voltage needed to light it. So, for now, I created a simple external power supply with diodes to light the lamp, and wired it into the power for the turntable motor. Alas, this works, but I'm not getting the volume out of the speaker that I should be when playing a record. I suspect the photo eye is weak. The #55 bulb is rated at 7 volts, and I'm getting 6 volts with the power supply, which is almost double of what the original bulb was putting out. So I should be getting the volume necessary. I ordered one of the photo cells from Japan I see some previous posters here have used as a replacement, so we'll see if that makes a difference.
