It probably just needs an alignment, which is not too hard to do on a simple TRF set like this. You more or less need to set it to a station near the mid point of the dial and tweak the trimmers there is such a way that you still get stations at both ends of the dial. Since it's basically an electrified 1920s battery set anyhow it's not going to be a real powerhouse with only six tubes, well five since one is the rectifier tube.

No trimmers on this radio, nothing on the tuning condenser, or on top of the chassis or underneath the only thing that makes a difference is the length of the antenna. I guess this is a pretty primitive radio. The other thing is the resistors, I have no idea what their values should be as the color code used is not the standard this could be part of the problem?
One of the resistors (blue/violet?) reads 2.5meg it goes from the "27 tube pin3 grid to chassis.
The tube data that I looked at said no more than 1 meg resistance in the grid ckt.
