just confirming Ron' quote above about fewer radios. My theory is based on our total lack of basements. Things just go in the trash because there is no place to store them. I never saw a basement until I was 48 and visited Michigan. Out here we have an aversion to being in a room under the house when the next earthquake comes.

Maybe that's what happened. On the antenna coil, the outside coil seems OK, but the lower inside coil is open. Also, the 20 ohm, wire wound resistor mounted on the coil is burned away. I have contacted Ron.
