need more shine.....
#1

Just got my Philco 60 cathedral on Friday and it has a nice tight original finish on it, but it could use a little more shine. Will Howard's Restor-a-Finish add some shine to it? I also have a can of Johnson's Paste Wax, that I can try, but I didn't want to wax it if I was going to put something else on it.

How about a picture. That should give us a better idea of how to proceed.

A picture would be helpful, but if the finish is in good shape this is what I'd do.  First give it a good cleaning with Go Jo hand cleaner (white NOT the orange).  Let that sit for a few days and then use some Howard's if there are any scratches, etc..  Let that dry for a few days and then apply a good paste wax.  If you don't like the wax you can always use mineral spirits to remove it.

Ok, here's some photos.  Kinda hard to get a true measure of the shine with flourescent lights and a flash, but hopefully you'll be able to tell. I have the right Go Jo, the wax and the Howard's.

I agree with John, but I would suggest that the last step should be Howards Feed-N-Wax. It does a great job.

That's a beauty! I hope it plays as beautifully as it looks.
