Final Lacquer finish on philco 38-60
#1

I am ready for the final finish on my Philco 38-60 and need to know what the original finish was. Was it a gloss like a piano finish or a semi-gloss type finish?
Thanks and Happy Holidays,
Don

The original factory finish was gloss. A lot of collectors prefer the semi-gloss finish...but it is not period correct.

Thanks, the info was appreciated. I must fall in the group of "a lot of collectors" because I tried gloss and it was just too gaudy for me so I went over it with semi-gloss.

You have to buff out the gloss or it looks that way.
