Philco 37-650 mystery wires
#1

Schematic reading/wiring assistance needed!

Im working on a Philco 37-650
http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources/219/M0013219.htm

I have a few disconnected/cut wires that I cant seem to figure out where they are supposed to connect.
The first one is this green/yellow wire coming off of pin 4 of the 6K7G tube. The other wire routes around to a bakelite block cap on the other side of the chassis but the other wire is cut/broken and I cant find another stub that looks like the same wire.

The Next one is this mysterious stub on pin 5 of one of the 6F6G output tubes.

Can anyone help?

>pin 4 of the 6K7G tube

Which 6K7 ? The rf or IF amp.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's

figure out what all those squiggly meant.

The IF....

Goes to the junction of 61 and 62.

The pic of the 6F6 looks like you are asking about pin 4 not pin 5. 4 goes to a 3.5k resistor and it in turn is connected to pin 4 of the other 6F6

The second wire on that pin goes to the 61/62 point....From the schematic I cant quite figure out why theres even another wire attached to pin4.

The other stub is definitely attached to pin 5 of 6F6 along with two resistors and a paper cap. The cap which isnt on the schematic and at first glance appears to be a recap of the .03 mfd bakelite block its attached to.

I think the previous owner had some work done on it ages ago and these stubs may be the remainder of some repairmans work....

Now that I look at it...I think that 6f6 stub used to be the connection to bakelite block #45. I think it was cut and the .03 mfd paper cap was strung between 6f6 and #45......

Each of the 6F6's should have a paper cap (whether it's loose or in a bakelite block) connected to pin 5. one come from pin 4 of the other 6F6 and the other cap comes pin 3 of the 6K5.

Pin 4 of the 6K7 has a connection over to pin4 of the 6A8

A ha! I think thats it! there are some bits of wire on that pin that could be where it broke free....theres also a wire from pin 4 of 6A8 to pin 4 of 6K7G (RF).

Right now there is only a wire from pin 4 of 6A8 to pin 4 of 6K7 (rf). Nothing else ...

I believe that while removing the subchasis I may have missed the wire between 6k7 (if) and 6A8 when I was marking and cutting and mistakenly pulled it off the pin while removing.....

Many thanks!

Got her playing for the rest of the recap and restoration....
