Not sure which one to do.. Maybe both.. I think the 125 looks better inside?  I could probably due both but only have schematic and info on the 122. Cannot find anything on 125...

So Skip,
When r u going to grab a nice bi\g manly set like a 37-116 or a '690 to play with? These little ac/dc sets too easy!!![Image: http://philcoradio.com/phorum/images/smi...on_lol.gif]

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.
Circa 1966
Now I think I've got!

Terry, I did tackle a 42-1012 as my first radio I played with.... I had to replace almost every wire. Not my favorite thing to do..

Before

I do not have any after pictures..

I have a Stromberg Carlson 440 M that I did.. also a RCA V 210 Both were consoles. Wife said no more consoles.. So I am on to smaller radios that are a lot easier. No place to put the consoles. Also do not due the woodwork.. The 42-1012 was in great condition as was the Stromberg.. The RCA not so much..

Ok Here is the tube lineup.. Code 122 7A8 7B7 7C6 35Z5 50L6.. Pretty normal.. Have schematic..

Code 125 7A8 7B7 7C6 35Y4 50B5 No schematic

The 48-250 uses 7A8 14A7 14B6 35Y4 50B5 Have schematic..

Closer to my 125 but uses 14 Tubes..

Also noticed that instead of a Field Coil as on 122 Schematic Mine has a Resistor.. also on 125 has resistor..

Kind of confusing...

The schematic of the code 122 and 125 should be very close.

The 35Z5 and 35Y4 are electrically identical as is the 50L6 and 50B5, the difference being the base and physical construction. Just look up the corresponding tube type in a manual or online and relate the pin connection numbers of each type to the schematic.

When the field coil speaker was replaced in the later production 125, the field was most likely replaced with a resistor of comparable value.
