My model 111 was working fine .Now when i turned it on 80 tube got red fried 70 ohm wire wound resistor. What went wrong? Denver :

Sound like one of your power supply filter caps shorted. When you replaced them what voltage rating did you use? Should be 450v or better.

Iused 630v. Found problem a little piece of wire was touching between 11 &10 terminals on condenser block. Where could i find a wire wound resistor?
Could i replace it with something else? Thanks Denver

I assume you are talking about that dual (two section) resistor, 70 ohms each section, which is mounted to the chassis.
I suggest replacing the unit with two 68 ohm, 5 watt resistors. It is a bias resistor, it should not see a whole lot of current. -- Ron Ramirez Ferdinand IN
