Push Button Tuning on 41-629
#1

I have restored a 41-629 (Yes, it is a BOL) and have the radio working after many hours of replacing all of the wiring and repairing the primary of the output transformer (3 opens). I would like to set the push button tuning but I am not sure of the proper procedure. There are only 5 PB's on this model, and on the back of the radio are ten holes for adjusting them. They are numbered 10 to 1 sarting at the left side facing the back of the chassis. I believe 2 are dedicated for each PB with 1 for oscillator and the other antenna (?) I have tried aligning them with a sig gen with loop antenna next to the radio loop but can't seem to get the stations correctly, or with poor volume compared to regular broadcast tuning. Does anyone know if there is specific tuning "range" for each PB, and what they might be?

As far as the BOL tone arm I am still working on this. I have replace the voltage cell with a dollar bill one and most of the rubber isolation mounts. I need to address the needle assembly rubber yet.

I don't know it off hand, but I know the pushbutton alignment procedure is in the original Philco Service Bulletin.
Ridres many times omitts a lot of original info.
There are different freq ranges for various models - not all the same, depending on the number of buttons, etc.

Where would I find the correct service bulletin? Thanks.

Here is the page from the 1941 Philco service manual on how to set the pushbuttons:
