Question on 221 Console Speaker Table

I'm new to this forum, thanks for inviting me in. I have 17 Philcos of assorted models and years in my collection.

Here is my first question. I have a Philco model 221Console Grand speaker table I purchased a while back and I am working on restoring it as the antique store I bought it from found it in a barn and decided to faux finish it in a sick yellow color. it has all the original hardware as far as I can tell and is structurally sound but I am puzzled as to the speaker element itself. Was there originally a speaker mounted in the cabinet or do you set a 211 speaker inside of it as there is no hardware or screw holes to tell me where to mount a speaker. Can anyone tell me what type speaker it had or would have picture of the inside that shows how to mount it?

Hi Gary - Welcome!

The Philco 221 Console Grand Speaker table really is a speaker. Here it is in the gallery:

We don't have it associated with the 221 model number - but I do see that number referenced on the TubeRadioLand 511 page.

Thanks Nathan. This is exactly what I was looking for. I can now look mine over and see if I can find the original mounting holes now that I have an idea where to look.
