I am working on a Philco 118X model chassis and a previous repair job was just plain sloppy and I'm having to figure out what is going on since things are moved around here and there.
There is one block condenser which is a 6287-R (part #72) which in my 1936 reference shows to have been discontinued and replaced by a 6287-ODU.  The original 6287-R shows in the radio parts list as just 0.25 mfd cap, but the ODU version shows two 0.15 caps internally which of course in parallel would be 0.3 mfd.  Does anyone know if the older 6287-R had two caps internally and what the values were?  It does have 3 lugs but some of the things connected don't make sense when crossed with the schematic.  I'm almost to the point where I'm wondering if I have the proper schematic.  The only one I can find is for a 118H(118, 118A).  I might just need to get my head out of this mess and take a break from it for a bit.  Info on that condenser would be appreciated.

Hi Brian,
I had a similar cap in my 116X. It has two .15mfd inside. I did like wise w/a pair .15mfd@630v film caps.

Another question on this are the internal connections.  What lugs are these two 0.15 caps connected to?  This block is only specified as a single .25, but there are three lugs and all of them are used as a connection point for something.  There is no reference on the schematic of using a single cap inside this block.  Is the middle lug a dummy?  I do not see a wire coming up through the rivet on the middle lug, so maybe it is.

Are there any pre 1936 catalogs out there that have these discontinued blocks so I won't have to keep asking about their specs?

I thought we had a Service Bulletin posted here for download, but I can't find it. So, I have it on my Dropbox, along with instructions on how to rebuild them from our friend Gary Maker, I think Gary Rabbit here on the Phorum. I use this for all my cross-referencing when I work on these blocks. Hope this is helpful!

Thanks guys!  Actually that is the one I already have.  I was wondering if there might be one prior to that one.  The block I was looking at was discontinued in the 1936 catalog and only showed what replaced it as it did many others.  I wanted to see if there was one that would show me the internal connections in case they might have been different than the new ones.  Probably not, but wanted to be safe.

It is perfectly fine Jeff if there was a bulletin or  something I posted elsewhere,  and you want to add here. I can't remember where I found that service bulletin or when. Unless it was something I found and scanned
  I was going to repost my tutorial on the  Phorum on Bakelite Block rebuilding, I see Mr. Davis has made some tools to make the job easier.
I believe there was another tutorial someplace, but I'd think having another one with different photos may still be of use. It's a PDF file as you know Jeff including your addition of the block data.
