Beautiful job cleaning up that turntable! Are you running the original cartridge?

Thanks mutantmoose!  I did order a needle for the original dynamic cartridge and will see if I can make that work.  But I also ordered a couple of different ceramic cartridges in case the original doesn't work.

Which ceramic cartridges did you order? I'm going to replace the crystal cartridge in mine, and I wonder what might fit.

I saw Buzz1151 use a Pfanstiehl P51-3  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llGp_QHq_Iw) so I ordered one of them.  I saw ThatTubeSound use a Pfanstiehl P226-SS33 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUlzAryWBKY) so I ordered one of them.  Gary over at Voice of Music Audio Enthusiasts also recommended both of these.

Thank you so much - I couldn't remember the P 51-3 at all, and mistakenly thought I was looking for an Astatic. I just ordered one myself!

Here's my newest creation from the 3d printer.  I want to do the tests and adjustments on the record changer, but I just sent my idler wheel in to Voice of Music to get a replacement.  Since the motor drives the idler, and the idler drives the platter, and the platter drives the mechanism, there's no way to do the tests and adjustments without the idler.  So I designed and printed one.  It's 3 pieces:  hub, wheel, and donut (printed with flexible filament).  I had some bearings with the proper inside diameter, so I designed it around them.   There is one spot in the cycle where it needs a little help, but otherwise it works well.

I've been racking my brain over a wiring issue in my 47-1230.  Since I replaced all paper caps, electrolytics, and a whole bunch of resistors, I decided to check every single connection:
   
Looks like fun, huh?  Everything checks out ok with one exception.  I noticed this a while back, but dismissed it as being ok, but now I want to investigate it.  There is either a mistake on the schematic, or I have a wire attached to the wrong terminal on the function switch.  The solder looks original, and the way it's wired actually makes more sense to me than the way it's shown on the schematic.  Here is the area I'm looking at (I generally prefer Philco's schematic, but in this case I think the Sam's is easier to see this issue):
   
Here's my interpretation of the schematic as drawn...I hope someone can tell me if I'm right or wrong.  I'm looking at FS4-R, or as Sam's calls it, Sect 4 Rear.  On the schematic, R89/C37 (47k/0.01) are connected to terminal 3 of the function switch.  The function switch is shown in the pushbutton position.  Clockwise it goes PB, BC, SW, FM.  So in any position except FM, the top section of the IF can (the top section is used for FM) is bypassed and B+ (through R89) is connected to the top part of the AM winding of the IF can.  But the bottom part of the primary just goes to terminal 4 of the function switch and nowhere else, so this winding would be useless, right?

But the way my radio is wired, R89/C37 are connected to terminal 4 of the function switch, and the only thing on terminal 3 is a wire going to the bottom of the FM winding/top of the AM winding in the IF can.  To me this makes more sense and seems to be the way it should be.  I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I do think my radio is wired correctly and the schematic is wrong.

Thanks Bill.  In this picture, the red wire is the one in question.  I've drawn a blue line to indicate the terminal it's connected to at this end.  It's FS4 rear terminal 4.  There's also a pink wire on this terminal that goes into the IF can (marked 145 on the Sam's schematic).
   
The other end goes to a terminal strip where it connects to C37 and R89.  Here is a shot of the entire wire with both ends marked with a blue line.
   
There are two terminal strips there.  The red wire connects to the left-most terminal on the right-most terminal strip in this picture.
