Mike I don't know why it's listed as a bicycle pump! This eBay listing is what I have but it appears to have an extension piece that I don't have on mine. Plus there is a small tip on the eBay one that I don't have. But that is my Trol Master. Good find. I did a search on eBay and Amazon and nothing showed up!

Mike I see the eBay TrolMaster sold. I hope you got it!

Yep. The guy was asking $29, probably cause it was being sold as bicycle pump (I wonder how many pumpings it would take to inflate one tyre), I offered $10. He accepted.

I haven't used mine yet but I'm wondering how well the pump plunger seals because when I hold my thumb over the end and push the plunger, there doesn't seem to be much pressure developed. It's like it loses compression. Let me know how yours is when you get it. I don't know if there is a way to make it stronger !

I guess it will depend on what the plunger is made of. If it is metal, there isn't much one could do.
If however it is plastic/fiber washer or leather attached to metal, then it could be remedied, though eventually prone to deterioration. For the money I paid I was willing to experiment. Once in possession of it, I will let you know the behaviour. People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Ok thanks. I assume it's one kind of rubber or felt but I will try using it first to see how well it works before I possibly ruin it. I know they make an additive to add to leaking transmissions to help swell the seals and that might be an option but it will be a last resort if it doesn't work well.

I would be careful what it is gets exposed to. Even if the stuff for leaky transmissions works, you simply do not know how it reacts with the lubricant you are delivering inside the pot AND what it will do to the pot itself once it gets inside of it (it will).
Also, you might just soak it in the lubricant itself, it might just work. if using Deoxit Fader lube, soak the piston in it. People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Yes anything like the trans seal would be a last ditch effort to get more compression in the tool. I would start with DeoxIT first and let it soak awhile. This might be moot as it might be fine the way it is. I don't have anything pressing to try it on yet.

This came today. The tip was unscrewed and Deoxit Fader Lube was added and sucked in. Then through the opening the tube was screwed upon the pot thread. I was a bit unsure about the fact that the pot's nut has those small holes in it as it is not a solid but a sheet metal nut. But as I watched it while pressing the piston, nothing really came out. Then I gave it a test and it was still scratchy. So I added bunch more Deoxit and repeated the procedure, having pumped several times. Then gave it a check again, this time the scratching has diminished, and as I worked the shaft several times, it had fully disappeared. So.....success? Of course there's still the power switch. But it works and with some use might self-clean. Ron: From the feeling of it, I think there is no piston piston (wide part) inside. I think the brass rod simply moves inside the fitting diameter barrel, so no felt/leather/whatever. Metal in metal. Which I guess is a good news. It's not a lot of compression but just enough to force the liquid enough lube inside a pot. Thanks Mike for the info. Didn't use mine yet but I am encouraged by your results. Glad you got it and it's working for you!

Ron
When you said that two halves could be separated, did you mean the thin and thick halves? In my case I can't take them apart (the nozzle with the wide adapter does unscrew as it is not needed fir regular pots). And I don't want to force it. Though it works anyway. The small tube is just a press fit onto the body with the plunger. It is a tight fit but with a little twisting action and pulling it comes apart. It's not threaded onto the plunger body.

Got it.
Well, since it doesn't seem to be essential for operating it, I will leave it the way it is for now. People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.
